Revanch Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2, 2026
1. Who publishes the app
The Revanch application ("the app") is published by:
- Esteban Gilles, self-employed sole trader, company number (BCE) 1029.035.782, VAT BE1029035782
- Address: Rue Victor Gilles 3A, 4280 Hannut, Belgium
- Contact: app.revanch@gmail.com
Quotes suggested by users are stored with Supabase Inc., in a database hosted in the European Union (Paris).
2. Purpose
These terms govern the use of Revanch, an app that shows motivational quotes chosen according to a profile (Wealth, Freedom, Revenge), as screens, notifications and a widget. By using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
The app is intended for people aged 18 and over, or for minors with their parents' consent, in particular for any purchase.
3. What is free, what is paid
Free: the quote of the day (the next one arrives at midnight), one notification a day, sharing as an image and the day streak. Backgrounds and fonts reserved for subscribers can be tried in preview.
Revanch subscription: every quote, up to twenty notifications a day, the widget, favorites, photo backgrounds (including your own photos) and the choice of fonts.
The content of the free offer and of the subscription may change. A feature already paid for will not be removed during the current period without compensation.
4. Subscription
4.1 Plans
- Monthly: renewed every month.
- Yearly: renewed every year. It starts with a three-day free trial if your App Store or Google Play account has never had one for Revanch.
The price in force, all taxes included, is the one shown in the app and by the store at the time of purchase. It may vary by country.
4.2 Purchase and payment
Purchases are made only through Apple's App Store or Google Play, with the payment method registered on your account. The publisher neither sees nor keeps your payment data. Apple's or Google's terms of sale also apply to the purchase.
4.3 Automatic renewal
The subscription renews automatically for the same duration and at the same price, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The amount is charged within the 24 hours before the end of the period.
If the price goes up, the store informs you in advance and, where the law or its rules require it, asks for your consent before renewal.
4.4 Free trial
The trial lasts three days. Nothing is charged during the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the yearly subscription starts and the yearly price is charged. The app sends you a reminder the day before the trial ends if notifications are allowed; this reminder is a courtesy, and its absence does not extend the trial. One trial per store account.
4.5 Cancellation
You can cancel whenever you want, from your account:
- iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Revanch;
- Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Revanch.
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: you keep access until then, with no refund of the current period, unless the law provides otherwise or the store decides otherwise.
4.6 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google (Google Play > Order history), under their own rules. The publisher has no access to payments and cannot refund directly.
4.7 Restoring
On a new phone, the "Restore purchase" button finds the subscription linked to the same App Store or Google Play account. Without a Revanch account, favorites and settings are not transferred from one phone to another.
5. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you in principle have fourteen days to withdraw from a contract concluded at a distance.
This right does not apply to the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium where performance has begun with your prior express consent and your express acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (article VI.53, 13°, of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, which transposes article 16(m) of European Directive 2011/83/EU).
By requesting immediate access to the paid content at the time of purchase, you agree that performance begins right away and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal upon that access. This request and this waiver are restated under the purchase button.
During the free trial, nothing is paid: you can cancel at no cost at any time.
The stores also apply their own rules: Apple, for example, allows users in the European Union to cancel a purchase within fourteen days at reportaproblem.apple.com.
6. Your use of the app
You agree to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use. It is forbidden to copy the app's content in bulk, to get around the locking of paid content, to decompile the app beyond what the law allows, or to disrupt its operation.
7. Quote suggestions
From the settings, you can suggest a quote, with an author if you know it.
- You must not suggest any unlawful, hateful, defamatory or abusive content, any personal data about a third party, or any text you know infringes the rights of others.
- The publisher freely chooses which quotes to add or not, with no obligation to reply.
- By sending a quote you wrote yourself, you grant the publisher, free of charge, the right to reproduce it, adapt it (cuts, translation, layout) and distribute it in the app, its widgets, its notifications and its communications, worldwide and for the duration of copyright. Your quote will not be signed with your name unless you agree.
- If the quote is by someone else, you give the author when you know it. The publisher checks the source and the rights before adding anything.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its logo, its design, its code, its selection and arrangement of quotes, its translations and its texts belong to Esteban Gilles or are licensed to him. The quotes remain the property of their authors or rights holders; they are reproduced as short quotations, with the author's name when known.
If you believe a quote infringes your rights, write to app.revanch@gmail.com stating the quote and your title to it: it will be reviewed and, if needed, removed promptly.
Sharing a quote as an image is allowed for personal use, including on social networks, with the "Revanch" mention that appears on the image.
9. What the app is not
The quotes are encouragement, not advice. They do not replace medical, psychological, financial, legal or professional advice. If you are going through a hard time, talk to someone close to you or to a professional; in Belgium, the Centre de prévention du suicide answers day and night on 0800 32 123; in France, call 3114.
10. Availability and liability
The publisher does its best to keep the app working, without being able to guarantee it will be free of interruptions or errors. Notifications and the widget also depend on your phone's system (battery saver, permissions, updates).
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damage, or for the decisions you make after reading a quote. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer law, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity of digital content and services provided by European Directive 2019/770 and the law of your country of residence, nor the publisher's liability for gross negligence or personal injury.
11. Personal data
How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy: revanch.vercel.app/en/privacy.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may change, for example when the app evolves. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. In the event of a significant change, you will be informed in the app or in the release notes. Continuing to use the app after the change means you accept it.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
If there is a problem, first write to app.revanch@gmail.com: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, you can contact the Consumer Mediation Service (Service de médiation pour le consommateur) free of charge, North Gate II, boulevard du Roi Albert II 8, box 1, 1000 Brussels, Belgium (mediationconsommateur.be), which will redirect you if needed to the competent body in your country.
Failing an agreement, the competent courts are those designated by law; for a consumer, these may be the courts of their place of residence.
