Revanch Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

In short

1. Data controller

Esteban Gilles, self-employed sole trader, company number (BCE) 1029.035.782, VAT BE1029035782, Rue Victor Gilles 3A, 4280 Hannut, Belgium. Contact for any question about your data: app.revanch@gmail.com.

2. What stays on your phone

This information is stored only in your phone's memory. We have no access to it and it is never sent to us:

Data What it is used for
Your profile (Wealth, Freedom or Revenge) Choosing the quotes
Your first name, if you give it Signing your notifications
Number and times of notifications Scheduling them on your phone
Favorites, quotes already read Showing them again, moving through the feed
Background, font and photos you chose (copy) Showing your quotes in the app and the widget
Subscription status and trial end date Unlocking paid content, reminding you the day before the trial ends
Quotes for the next 30 days Showing them in the widget

It is erased when you delete the app. It may be included in your phone's backup (iCloud, Google), depending on your settings, under the control of Apple or Google.

Notifications are scheduled on your phone: no server sends them.

When you share a quote, the image is made on your phone and goes only where you choose to send it.

When it opens, the app asks our host (Supabase) for the time to know what day it is, without sending anything: no identifier, no data. As with any connection, the host sees your phone's IP address, under the conditions described in part 3.

3. What we receive: suggested quotes

From the settings, you can suggest a quote. If you send it, we receive:

Nothing else is attached: no first name, no identifier, no profile. As with any Internet connection, the host technically sees your phone's IP address; it may appear in its technical logs for a few days at most, and we do not use it.

Do not write personal data in a suggested quote (yours or anyone else's).

4. Usage statistics

To know what works and what gets in the way (a screen people leave, an offer people turn down), the app sends usage statistics. You can turn them off at any time in the settings ("Anonymous analytics"): nothing more is sent after that.

What is sent:

What is never sent: your first name, the text of the quotes, your favorites, your location. We do not try to find out who you are and do not combine this data with any other.

5. Purchases

Subscriptions go through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google process the payment and your account information under their own privacy policies, as independent controllers:

The app only asks the store, on your phone, whether a Revanch subscription is active on your account. This answer is not sent to any server of ours. We receive aggregate sales reports from Apple and Google, which do not allow us to identify you.

Apple also notifies our server when a subscription is started, renewed, stopped or refunded. We keep the type of event, the plan, the price, the currency, the store country and the date, with a scrambled purchase number that links the steps of the same subscription. No name, no email address, no Apple ID: we cannot know who bought. This data is used to track our sales (legal basis: our legitimate interest), is stored with PostHog in the European Union, and is erased after 13 months.

6. What we don't do

7. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to object to its processing or restrict its use, to get it back (portability) and to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before.

For the data that stays on your phone, you control it yourself: change it in the app's settings or delete the app.

For statistics, turn them off in the settings: that is your right to object, and it applies immediately. Since we do not know who an identifier belongs to, we cannot find your past statistics without it; it is not displayed anywhere, and reinstalling the app draws a new one.

For a suggested quote, write to app.revanch@gmail.com quoting the text and the approximate date it was sent: since we do not know who sent it, this is the only way to find it. We reply within one month.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données), rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels (dataprotectionauthority.be), or with the authority of your country of residence (in France: the CNIL, cnil.fr).

8. Minors

The app is not intended for children under 15. We do not knowingly collect any data about them. If you believe a child has sent us a quote containing personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Suggested quotes and statistics are sent encrypted (HTTPS). The table that receives them is set up so that the app can only add rows: the key contained in the app can neither read nor modify what has been sent.

10. Changes

We will update this policy if the app changes the way it processes data. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. In the event of a significant change, you will be informed in the app or in the release notes.
